After a successful teaching career that spanned more than five decades, Janelle Wilkie enjoys the challenges in her role as one of the Principals of Objective Livestock Marketing (OLM).
“One of the most rewarding aspects of being part of our family business has been learning new skills, particularly in the areas of finance and business administration. My work with OLM is completely different from my professional career but I believe my training and experience in that field have given me the discipline to embrace the challenges and enjoy the rewards that owning a business brings. Watching Objective Livestock Marketing develop from its beginnings to a successful family owned enterprise, with Danny and myself in partnership with our son Andrew and his wife Vanessa, has been a great source of satisfaction for me”.
Janelle regularly travels with Danny to visit clients on-farm and attend business functions.
“These trips provide valuable opportunities to become better acquainted with producers. It’s really important to spend time out of the office meeting with people as it allows me to stay in touch with what’s happening in the business at a grass roots level.”
